Early work

In the early 1990's, and after finsihing art school, I painted about the war in the islands (I was thirteen at the time), which led to several exhibitions and recognition internationally given few artists had the position I had, i.e. the experience as a child plus my family's personal history (my father acted as a guide with the Parachute Regiment and my mother had an Argentine partner at the time)Today, my work may have elements of that time, but it's not intentional; I don't believe in carrying ghosts from the past, and always want to develop my work and experience something new, and magical, as opposed to nostalgia, as tragic as that time was for many, least of all those unlucky enough to be living peacefully in the islands. (You can read about the war years and living in Argentina in my published 'Behind the door Lurks a Monster, link on my main page). Journalists have often written about me, but its always the same, i.e. manipulative and condescending, albeit to suit their pre-set narratives.
